Michael Mee to headline Róisín Dubh Comedy Clubh

One time lawyer now writer for Des Bishop, Colin Murphy, Deirdre O'Kane, and Barry Murphy

Michael Mee.

Michael Mee.

MICHAEL MEE was, at one time, a lawyer, but hung up his chancery wig and gown for life as stand-up comedian and in demand comedy writer. The law's loss has been comedy's gain.

Mee has written for Irish comedy heavyweights Des Bishop, Colin Murphy, Deirdre O'Kane, and Barry Murphy. He has also scripted films, and appeared on RTÉ's The Savage Eye and the BBC's The Stand-Up Show and Empire Laughs Back. He also has a weekly radio show, Pimp My Ipod, on 2xm.

He is a superb stand-up comedian with a “keen eye for the absurd,” (The List, Edinburgh ), a “Woody Allen with a Cork brogue” (Time Out, New York ), with “finely crafted one-liners, intelligent punchlines” (Edinburgh Evening News ) as Galway will see when he plays the Róisín Dubh Comedy Clubh tomorrow [Friday July 17] at 8.30pm.

Support is from Galway based Cork comic Cormac McGuinness. The MC is Steve Bennett. Tickets are €8 in advance and €10 on the door. See www.roisindubh.net
