Welsh guitar wizard Gareth Pearson for Galway

Acoustic guitarist to play Róisín Dubh on Sunday

GARETH PEARSON, the phenomenal fingerstyle guitarist, who has won praise and admiration from fellow guitarists, including Jan Akkerman, who called him "a genius", plays Galway this weekend.

Heavily influenced by Merle Travis, Chet Atkins, Jerry Reed and Tommy Emmanuel, Gareth’s repertoire of techniques is wide and even includes his own arrangements of Michael Jackson and Radiohead hits. An exuberant performer, he jumps, dances, and even moonwalks while executing incredibly complex fingerstyle playing, coupled with good humour.

Gareth plays the upstaris bar in the Róisín Dubh this Sunday at 8pm. The special guest is Belfast’s David Browne-Murray, a talented acoustic guitarist and winner of the prestigious Yamaha Six String Guitar Competition in the USA.

Tickets are available at www.roisindubh.net, the Ticket Desk at OMG Zhivago, Shop Street, and The Róisín Dubh. See also www.garethpearson.com
