LUCY SPRAGGAN may describe her music as ‘A-Flop’, but that self-deprecation is really another way of saying her songs fuse acoustic, folk, and hip hop.
It also belies the fact that the English woman has enjoyed a fair degree of success since she appeared on the X-Factor in 2012, which led to a deal with Columbia Records and her 2013 major label debut album Join The Club, going Top 10 in Britain.
Lucy is back on tour again to promote her new album We Are... which will be released on Bank Holiday Monday. A taste of the album came through the single ‘Unsinkable’, released in March. It has also given the name to Lucy’s current round of shows across Britain and Ireland - The Unsinkable Tour.
Lucy Spraggan plays the Róisín Dubh this Saturday at 8pm. Tickets are available at www.roisindubh.net, the Ticket Desk at OMG Zhivago, Shop Street, and The Róisín Dubh.
