Lam’s squad heads to London

Connacht head to London for their second pre-season clash warm-up where they will face Wasps in London on Saturday.

Pat Lam’s squad will still be without a number of players, including Andrew Browne, who has had knee surgery, Aly Muldowney (ankle ) and Matt Healy (hand ) who are all expected to be out for up to four weeks.

Backs Miah Nikora and Conor Finn both sustained minor back strains earlier in the week and are unavailable for the game with Wasps, while captain John Muldoon sat out training this week with a tight hamstring, but will be reassessed ahead of the team departure tomorrow.

On a positive note, centre Dave McSharry and prop Nathan White have both resumed full training. White, who had minor back surgery in June, will be available for selection ahead of the season opener against Dragons on September 6, while Irish internationals Robbie Henshaw and Kieran Marmion will not be available until round two of the Guinness Pro 12. Tighthead prop Rodney Ah You is available for the opening game.

Connacht Rugby kick off the 2014/15 season on Saturday September 6 at the Sportsground when they welcome Welsh side Newport Gwent Dragons (kick off 5pm ).
