Music On The Water

MUSIC ON The Water is an art exhibition, a concert, and a public talk, all talking place in the Galway City Museum.

Music On The Water began seven years ago as a collaboration between Nicholas Ross (pianist ), Kent Holliday (composer ) and Maurice Quillinan (artist ). It is an exploration of the ‘Golden Section’, a mathematical subdivision of a surface area or musical score, suggesting where the most important elements should be positioned.

The exhibition of Maurice Quillinan paintings will run at the museum from July 15 to 27. Before that, the artist will give an illustrated talk followed by a gallery tour of the paintings this Saturday at 2.30pm.

On the following Tuesday and Wednesday at 2pm, Nick Ross will perform a selection of works by Claude Debussy and Kent Holliday to complement the exhibition.

The events are part of the Galway International Arts Festival. Admission is free but places are limited and advance booking is essential. To book contact 091 - 532460.
