Poetry and creative writing

Poet Kevin Higgins will give two poetry workshops at the Galway Arts Centre in January. Each workshop will run for 10 weeks, one on Tuesdays (for beginners ) from 7pm to 8.30pm, and on Thursdays (Advanced Poetry Workshop ) from 2pm to 3.30pm. The cost is €110/100.

Kevin will also host a creative writing for beginners class at the Galway Technical Institute, starting Monday January 19. Classes will take place from 7pm to 9.30pm each Monday for eight weeks. The intermediate creative writing with Susan Millar DuMars begins on Tuesday January 20 and will take place each Tuesday for eight weeks from 7pm to 9.30pm.

Workshops as Gaeilge

The Western Writers’ Centre is hosting two more major literary-media workshops in the Irish language this month. Ailbhe Nic Giolla Bhríghde will host ‘An Introduction to writing for Television’ on January 17. The acclaimed actor Diarmuid de Faoite will present a workshop on where theatre and television crossover on January 31.
