Start 2009 with a laugh with Ian Coppinger

THE COMEDY Club at Cuba* roars into life in the New Year when it presents a showcase of the cream of Irish talent on Friday January 2.

Top of the bill is Ireland’s leading improvisational comic Ian Coppinger. With some of the most killer one-liners and an ability to engage his audience from the very moment he steps on stage, Ian is quite simply unmissable.

He often steals the show when the Whose Line Is It Anyway? gang play Galway and he has sold out venues in the USA, Australia, Canada, South Africa, and Hong Kong.

Ian’s TV credits are numerous including The Stand up Show (BBC ) and The World Stands Up (Paramount ) and he has appeared alongside Christian Slater in the Gielgud Theatre’s production of One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest.

Support on the night comes from fast rising Irish star Fred Cooke, whose grip on reality is at best tenuous but who is nevertheless a brilliant talent. On the open mic slot for new talent is the very impressive and highly promising Chris Kent.

The MC is Gerry Mallon. Tickets are available in advance at Bar 903, The Cellar Bar, and at the door which opens at 8.30pm.
