Triple treat of comedy excellence

COMEDIANS MARK Thomas, Sean Hughes, and Jason Byrne are confirmed to play the Róisín Dubh and ‘Róisín Dubh presents...’ shows in 2014.

Mark Thomas will present 100 Acts of Minor Dissent on April 2 in the Róisín. On May 13 2013, Mark set out to commit 100 acts of minor dissent in the space of a year and, on at midnight May 13 2014, the task will end. The show catalogues those acts from the smallest to the grandest confrontation. The results are hilarious, subversive, mainly legal, and occasionally inspiring.

Sean Hughes’ show Penguins takes place in An Taibhdhearc on April 11. In the show, Sean recalls his Dublin upbringing, the awkwardness of teenage life, his family, school days, and the business of friendship. The show won the Herald Angels Award for Best Comedy show at The Edinburgh Fringe 2013.

Before them, Jason Byrne, described as “the outright king of live comedy” by The Times, plays the Róisín on February 5.

Tickets are available at www.roisindubh.net, from the Ticket Desk at OMG, Shop Street (formerly Zhivago ), and The Róisín Dubh.
