Build an instrument and take part in a gig

THE BELGIAN based, American singer-songwriter, Le Ton Mité is coming to Galway to perform a concert and give an ‘instant instrument workshop’.

Le Ton Mité (aka McCloud Zicmuse ), who has just released his new album, Kumokokudo, will play The Secret Garden, Sea Road, on Friday October 18 at 7pm

In his music, McCloud uses unusual chords, pointilistic phrasing, and spacious rhythms. He has collaborated with Maher Shalal Hash Baz and performed with Deerhoof, Mt Eerie, Chris Cohen, and Félicia Atkinson.

Ahead of the concert, from 7pm to 8pm, McCloud will lead a workshop building a unique instrument called the iaeniaen. The instrument was born of necessity when McCloud found himself instrument-less on an art residency. He gathered whatever materials were to hand and the iaeniaen was born.

Materials will be provided, but feel free to bring along any bits and pieces you think may be incorporated. Participants are invited to perform with their instruments at the gig if they wish.

Support is from Yawning Chasm. Admission is free, but donations are welcome.
