TODAY SEES the launch of Baz Luhrmann’s much anticipated film adaptation of F Scott Fitzgerald’s classic novel The Great Gatsby.

The film, starring Leonardo DiCaprio in the title role, along with Toby Maguire, Carey Mulligan, and Isla Fischer, follows would-be writer Nick Carraway as he leaves the Midwest for New York City during the ‘Roaring 20s’, an era of loosening morals, glittering jazz, and bootleg kings.

The Eye Cinema, Wellpark, is planning plenty of “girlie and glamorous” treats for the opening weekend with spot prizes on offer from The g Hotel, Hotel Meyrick, and Belisssimo. Those coming to the film are encouraged to do so in 1920s dress to be in with a chance of winning prizes.
