Irish college to perform Africa charity concert next week

Students and teachers at Colaiste Lurgan in Indreabhán will stage a concert in the village’s Marquee Pavilion next Wednesday for the charity Self Help Africa.

Most of the entertainment for the concert will be provided by students. Students will perform their own versions of chart hits as well as songs they have written themselves.

The concert will also be streamed live on the internet. The broadcast will begin at 9pm and will run until approximately 10.30pm. To view the show go to www.bit.ly/ceolchoirm Students from the colaiste will also present a €25,000 cheque to Ray Jordan, CEO of Self Help Africa, from the proceeds of their fundraising endeavours over the summer months.

Self Help Africa works to support poverty stricken communities in Uganda and other parts of Africa.
