Caman Gary — Former Man Utd skipper tries his hand at hurling

Gary Neville the ex Manchester United captain and England footballer and current leading Sky Sports pundit tried his hand at hurling as part of a stag group at Pure Skill in Galway at the weekend.

The party of eight people chose the facility at Pure Skill for their daytime activity. The 20,000 sq foot facility is an automated indoor arena comprising 10 sports and the competitors have to complete all 10 sports and compile a scorecard out of 100 points.

Gary spent a very enjoyable two hours bonding with his friends and the weather in Galway was never going to be an issue in this vast and innovative indoor complex. The competition between the group was fierce with Neville even getting four out of 10 in the hurling discipline, a very respectable score for someone who had previously never picked up a hurley in his life. Other sports he scored very well at were baseball, cricket, tennis and golf. Never a renowned penalty taker, his accuracy at penalties left a lot to be desired.
