Meet county hurlers at open day

Galway hurling fans can look forward to another open day with the county’s senior hurlers on May 28 in Kenny Park.

A big success last year, the Galway Hurling Supporters’ Club, in conjunction with the Galway Hurling Board, have again decided to hold the event which this year will feature a challenge match between Galway and division two league champions Limerick at 2pm.

Fans will have their opportunity to meet the players after the match, and the senior squad will be available to pass on their hurling skills and tips.

Once again the event is aimed at primary school boys and girls up to 12 years of age, giving them a unique opportunity to meet the Galway hurling panel prior to this year’s championship. A skills session will be facilitated by coaches from the Galway GAA’s coaching and development group and all children can take part providing they bring their hurley, helmet and sliotar.

Hurling sponsors Supermac’s will provide catering in Kenny Park on the day and a draw for signed Galway 2011 jerseys will take place, with other spot prizes throughout the event.
