New Galway People’s Resource Centre location

It is a new dawn for the Galway People’s Resource Centre which is currently settling into its new premises at St Clare’s Walk, Merchant’s Road, Galway.

For the past 15 years the centre, a congress centre for the unemployed, has been providing help, support, and information to the public from its old premises in Canavan House, Nun’s Island. That help is set to continue and indeed progress further at its new Merchant’s Road location.

The centre, which has been working with and for the people of Galway since 1986, provides assistance to all those who need it, whether they are unemployed, in receipt of any welfare payment, in low-paid employement or those seeking to enter the workforce again. A wide range of support services, which are free and confidential, are offered as well as other services such as internet, computer access, adult education, employment/unemployment and welfare information, equality rights and a jobs club. The centre provides a secretarial service to help with compiling CVs, covering letters, theses, and job applications. A low-cost internet and photocopying service is also available.

The centre located at St Clare’s Walk, Merchants Road, Galway, is open Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm. For more information contact 091 564822 or e-mail [email protected].
