Small and medium sized businesses which have been refused credit by the banks are being asked to take part in an online poll by Fine Gael senator Fidelma Healy Eames.
In advance of the NAMA debate next week, Sen Healy Eames has established a ‘Business Loans Poll’ on her website www.fidelmahealyeames.ie
The Maree based senator is inviting Galway city and county business to take part in the online poll and answer two questions: Is your bank providing the credit you need for your business? and Has your bank refused you credit?
“Viable businesses are being starved of credit, putting their future at risk and putting thousands of jobs in Galway on the line,” she said. “Nationally, small and medium enterprises support 800,000 jobs nationwide and are the lifeblood of our economy. The banks say they are open for business but businesses I have spoken to dispute this.”
