Big demand for swine flu seminarBig demand for swine flu seminar

An “unprecedented” number of businesses in Galway and Mayo have signed up to attend a swine flu seminar in the city next week.

The event is being organised by Advanced Safety on Friday September 18 at 10am at the Marriott Courtyard Hotel.

The seminar will be delivered by an infection and prevention control specialist who will focus on topics such as “Limiting the effects of swine flu in the workplace”, “Procedures in dealing with a suspected case of swine flu” and “Possible effects it will have on your place of work.”

Cathal Irwin of Advanced Safety says it has received a “large amount” of inquiries every day from local businesses and members of the public regarding the pandemic.

“This led the company to hold the first of these seminars which we hope to roll out over the coming months.”

He outlines the seminar focuses on a “back to basics” approach, recommending “good sneezing, coughing practices and washing your hands” regularly.

Places are limited so people are advised to book a place in advance by calling Advanced Safety at (094 ) 9027674 or email Cathal at [email protected]

Employers can also obtain information from the Department of Health on swine flu by logging onto the HSE’s website www.hse.ie
