Taking place on the second anniversary of Eamonn Nugent’s untimely passing at the age of just 31, the evening will honour his enduring legacy and raise crucial funds to support brain tumour research.
Eamonn’s Vision was founded by his wife, Sarah Gronnell, and his sister, Ciara Nugent, following his courageous battle with a brain tumour.
A gifted bodhrán player whose life was deeply intertwined with the rhythm of traditional Irish music, Eamonn carried a profound belief in music’s ability to unite people and foster community. The charity was born out of this spirit – turning personal loss into direct support for research into more effective treatments and, ultimately, a cure.
The anniversary concert brings together some of the most celebrated figures in contemporary and traditional folk music. The evening will feature performances by The Friel Sisters, Ali Levack & Danny McGuinness, Paddy Callaghan, Conor Mallon, Paul McKenna, Sarah Markey, Galvian Way, John McNamara, and Rory Murphy, alongside several surprise guest appearances to be unveiled on the night.
“Eamonn lived and breathed traditional music, and the bodhrán was truly at the centre of who he was,” says Sarah Gronnell, co-founder of Eamonn’s Vision. “To mark two years since his passing by filling Monroe’s with the tunes, musicians, and community he cherished, feels like the most natural and fitting tribute. We want this night to be a celebration of life, friendship, and collective action for families facing a brain tumour diagnosis.”
All proceeds raised from ticket sales, donations, and charity raffles on the night will go directly toward funding pioneering research initiatives to improve survival rates and patient outcomes for those affected by brain tumours.
