Starting secondary school is a big step for any young person. There are new routines, more homework, greater expectations and so much more to organise. For students with dyslexia or other additional learning needs, this transition can feel particularly overwhelming.
As a former Learning Support Coordinator in a large post-primary school, Michelle understands the challenges students and families can face during this important stage.
She is offering weekly, personalised support sessions for students who may need a little extra help to feel more confident and independent in their learning.
Sessions can help students to: Build confidence in reading, writing and comprehension; Develop effective study and organisational skills; Manage homework and workload more independently; Improve time management and planning; Develop practical strategies to make schoolwork feel more manageable.
Every student learns differently, which is why sessions are personalised, practical and supportive. The focus is on understanding each student’s individual needs, building on their strengths and developing strategies that work for them.
Most importantly, the aim is to help students feel more confident, capable and in control of their learning.
