The next Repair Café Galway will take place on Saturday, September 26, offering free repairs, skill-sharing, and a welcoming space for neighbours to meet, chat, and learn practical ways to keep household items in use for longer.
The repair café is also celebrating its first anniversary this month - the first café took place in September 2025 in Galway City Museum. The organiseres are delighted that they have been able to keep the café running monthly for the last year, and hope to continue into the future.
Repair Cafe Galway is a free monthly event, run by a team of skilled volunteers who help mend textiles and small electrical items and save these from going to landfill.
Repair Cafe Galway has been supported in this by Fergal Cushen in Galway City Council to ensure the group's overheads are covered; this means they do not look for donations from visitors. This is an important aspect of the service, as it means visitors feel welcome to come to the cafe without worrying about cost.
The next Repair Café Galway takes place at the Rowing Club, Woodquay, on Saturday, September 26 from 12.30pm to 3.30pm. Walk-ins are welcome.
