Galway Community College has announced the launch of its new part-time Adult Education programme, beginning this September 2026.
With a wide and varied course offering, there is something to suit every interest, whether you're looking to learn a new skill, pursue a hobby, or advance your career.
Arts and Crafts
Sewing, Knitting, Painting and Drawing, Interior Design, Flower Arranging, and Jewellery Making are among the creative courses on offer for those wishing to explore their artistic side.
DIY
Hands-on learners can get stuck into Carpentry, Upcycling Furniture, and Upholstery courses, designed to build practical skills for the home and beyond.
Languages
Budding linguists can choose from Spanish, Irish, and Sign Language classes, opening the door to new ways of communicating and connecting with others.
Holistic and Wellness
For those looking to focus on health and wellbeing, courses include Yoga, Holistic Care and Wellness, Nurturing Childhood Education and Play, and Alexander Techniques.
Academic
Learners looking to further their professional qualifications can choose from a range of accredited academic courses, including HRM Level 6, Business Management Level 6, Supervisory Management Level 6, Mathematics Level 5, and Nutrition Level 5.
All courses will take place on-site at Galway Community College, with free car parking available for all attendees.
Speaking about the new programme, Director of Adult Education Siobhan Hawkins said the courses were designed to offer something for everyone, whatever their interests or ambitions, and encouraged the local community to take the opportunity to learn something new this autumn.
