New poetry is ‘antidote to despair’

Tony O’Dwyer’s new poetry collection Waiting for the Mason will be launched this Friday, July 10, at 6pm, in Charlie Byrne’s Bookshop.

The book, published by Salmon Poetry, will be launched by Aosdána member, Nuala O’Connor, author of the novel Nora, based on the life of James Joyce’s muse, Galwaywoman Nora Barnacle. All welcome.

Waiting for the Mason has received high praise from another Aosdána member, Mary O’Donnell: “Everyone should carry a copy of Waiting for the Mason as an antidote to despair… The poet elevates one’s sense that being human may, for once, be quite a good condition… This is essential reading from a poet of great and sensitive authority.”

Waiting for the Mason can be purchased in Charlie Byrne’s, or any bookshop, or online at www.salmonpoetry.com
