World Cup Fever at OxyGeneration

The team at OxyGeneration are celebrating the Men’s Football World Cup.

World Cup 2026 is bigger than ever, with more teams, more matches and more minutes on the pitch. For elite teams aiming to go the distance, recovery cannot be an afterthought, it is now a key part of performance preparation.

HBOT is increasingly becoming a typical part of recovery for top athletes. At this World Cup, the American, Spanish, and English teams are all reported to be using hyperbaric oxygen chambers as part of their wider recovery routines.

US men’s national team have one right on-site at their base camp in California. “If a player has got any injuries, this is going to shorten their recovery time,” Carol Manning, founder and CEO of Hyperbaric Lab, told The Athletic.

“At minimum, 30-35%, they’ll heal faster. If it’s just to rebuild, restore and recover…… they’re going to see a 50% increase in stamina and reaction time. I would say you really need to do it three times a week if you’re a pro athlete.”

Dr Claudio Vazquez, head of medical services for the Spanish team, told El Pais that Spain brought a portable hyperbaric chamber to the World Cup as part of its approach to oxygenation, inflammation and recovery between matches.

The English team, as per reports in the Telegraph, have been using hyperbaric chambers as part of their preparation for such a long tournament.
