Barbados direct from Dublin

Clodagh from Fahy Travel recently returned from another memorable holiday in Barbados, travelling on the direct Aer Lingus service from Dublin. Having previously travelled via Manchester, the convenience of a direct flight made the journey much smoother and more enjoyable. While this direct route has not yet been confirmed for 2026/2027, Barbados remains easily accessible with connecting flights through England.

A returning visitor to the island, Clodagh once again chose to stay in a beachfront B&B hotel, allowing her to enjoy some of her favourite local restaurants and experience the island’s renowned food scene from food trucks to fine dining. Barbados caters for every type of traveller and every age group, offering accommodation to suit all budgets — from comfortable three-star hotels to stylish four-star resorts and luxurious five-star beachfront properties. Visitors can choose from B&B, half-board or all-inclusive stays depending on their holiday style.

During her stay, Clodagh enjoyed a catamaran cruise where she and her son snorkelled with turtles and explored a shipwreck in the crystal-clear Caribbean waters. Barbados offers a fantastic range of excursions, including island tours, submarine experiences, jeep safaris, rum tours, water sports and sunset cruises, ensuring there is something for everyone to enjoy. Car hire is also very popular and straightforward, with Barbadians driving on the same side of the road as in Ireland. Alternatively, visitors can easily explore the island using reliable public transport and the colourful local ZR “Reggae buses,” a fun and affordable way to travel around.

One of Barbados’ greatest attractions is how safe, friendly, and welcoming the island feels. For Clodagh, this visit was all about relaxation, great food and enjoying the laid-back Caribbean atmosphere that keeps visitors returning year after year.
