All My Friends Are Bots, a new, darkly comic, and oddly romantic play from Galway-based playwright and director Emily White, premieres at the Galway Theatre Festival 2026 in O’Donoghue Centre, on May 5 and May 6 at 6:30pm.
Dig deep into what connection even means in our increasingly automated world. What do we gain, and what do we lose, when we love things that cannot love us back?
Cassidy does not think they are the target demographic for these new Automated Companions. Why would someone bright, independent, and obviously not pathetic get emotionally attached to an AI? But after yet another toxic, unfulfilling relationship, the idea of unconditional companionship can start to look surprisingly attractive. It is not a bad thing to just want to be loved, right?
The play is supported by Galway Theatre Festival, with development support from Druid FUEL and Irish Theatre Institute.
Tickets cost €18/€16 from galwaytheatrefestival.com
