It's been a busy few weeks for the Salerno Student Council.

The Salerno Student Council is made up of student representatives across the first to sixth year groups and the council's theme this year is connections. The council were invited to Áras an Uachtaráin by President Catherine Connolly to attend a Credentials Ceremony on Thursday, March 26.

The Credentials Ceremony was to formally appoint the New Zealand and Kenyan Ambassadors to Ireland. The students were given a tour of the Áras and the President's Aide de Camp told historical facts and stories. The army band and Minister of State, Jerry Buttimer were also present.

It was a fantastic experience for the Salerno students.

Mayoral Chambers visit

Furthermore, the Student Council were visiting Mayor Mike Cubbard in his Mayor Chambers last Friday, April 17.

The students discussed the various initiatives that are ongoing in the school at the moment. Mayor Cubbard shared his political journey so far.

Salerno's student council also drew the Mayor's attention to an issue of concern among the school community - the lack of a safety barrier for pedestrians exiting the school gate on Threadneedle Road.

The Student Council at Salerno continue to fly the flag for their school community.
