Divilly Brothers has unveiled a significant nationwide expansion of its partnership with Tesco Ireland, marking a major milestone in the growth of the nearly century-old local food business.
The family-owned company first began supplying Tesco stores in October 2022, following Tesco’s acquisition of Joyce’s Supermarkets. Initially launching in eight stores across the west of Ireland, the partnership quickly gathered pace. By May 2023, Divilly Brothers had secured listings in an additional eight locations, driven by strong customer demand and increasing brand recognition.
Now, in 2026, the collaboration has reached a new scale. Following the successful introduction of Ireland’s first Bord Bia-approved No Added Nitrite ham range, Divilly Brothers’ cooked meats are stocked in 96 Tesco stores nationwide. Its traditional breakfast meats are also available in 23 Tesco locations.
The expansion represents a significant step forward for the Galway-based company, which continues to invest in innovation, high food standards, and local employment while maintaining its family-owned ethos.
As a member of Love Irish Food, the company says it remains committed to supporting Irish producers and delivering trusted, high-quality Irish-made products to consumers across the country.
Commenting on the announcement, Shane Divilly, Commercial Director at Divilly Brothers, described the expansion as a landmark achievement.
“This is a major milestone for our business. From starting in a number of stores in 2022 to now reaching shoppers nationwide, it reflects the strength of the Divilly Brothers brand and the hard work of our entire team,” he said.
“The successful launch of our Bord Bia approved No Added Nitrite ham range has been a real breakthrough for us, and we are delighted to see the range continue to grow in availability. As we approach 100 years in business next year, it is an exciting time for our family business and we are proud to be continuing to expand while staying true to our roots in the west of Ireland.”
Brendan Swords, Senior Buyer for Meat, Fish and Poultry at Tesco Ireland, also welcomed the expansion, highlighting the strength of the partnership.
“The relationship with Divilly’s has grown from strength to strength over the past five years, and we are delighted to range their quality products across a growing number of our stores. The partnership highlights Tesco's long-standing commitment to supporting Irish suppliers and helping to grow jobs in local communities,” he said.
The nationwide rollout underscores Divilly Brothers’ ongoing growth strategy, with continued investment in product development, production capacity, and long-term expansion plans as the company looks ahead to its centenary year in 2027.
