Two University of Galway students have been awarded the RDJ Diversity and Inclusion Scholarships.

Fahima Mohamed and Stuthi Biyani were presented with scholarships at University of Galway on January 13 by Marion Meehan, senior associate at RDJ, and Professor Martin Hogg, Dean of the University of Galway School of Law. Each student receives a €5,000 bursary along with a work placement opportunity at RDJ.

Meehan said that Fahima and Stuthi are "two outstanding students with bright careers ahead of them".

Professor Hogg hailed the pair as "worthy recipients" who will receive "transformative support and encouragement to pursue legal careers in an increasingly diverse legal profession".

The RDJ Diversity and Inclusion Scholarship supports students from ethnic minority backgrounds and those under-represented in the Irish legal profession. Fahima and Stuthi were selected following a competitive process involving academic results and an essay on the importance of diversifying the legal profession in Ireland.
