The Connacht Hotel has proudly announced that it has raised over €25,500 for Galway Hospice, its chosen charity partner for 2025, following a year-long programme of staff-led fundraising initiatives.

Throughout the year, team members across the hotel came together to organise and support a wide range of events, all with the shared goal of giving back to a charity that plays a vital role in the local community. Fundraising activities included staff raffles, a lively staff sports night, and a hugely popular duck race held during the summer in Galway City Centre, which attracted strong public support and became a standout moment of the campaign.

The fundraising total is a testament to the commitment, creativity, and generosity of the Connacht Hotel team, as well as the wider Galway community who supported the events throughout the year.

Connacht Hotel General Manager David O’Connor paid tribute to the staff involved, acknowledging the effort and enthusiasm shown across all departments.“Our team really got behind this cause, and the level of support throughout the year was exceptional,” he said.

“Galway Hospice does incredibly important work for individuals and families at the most difficult times in their lives. We are delighted to be able to give something back to such a wonderful organisation, and I am immensely proud of our staff for everything they have done to make this fundraising effort such a success.

“Galway Hospice provides specialist palliative care services to patients and families across the region, relying heavily on community fundraising and donations to continue its essential work. The Connacht Hotel looks forward to continuing its charitable efforts in 2026 and building on the strong sense of community and purpose demonstrated throughout this successful fundraising year.
