Monroe’s Live will be rocking this Saturday night, December 13, with a double bill of two powerhouse bands, back-to-back: Glory Days and The Amazing Apples.
Relive the anthems of Bruce Springsteen with Glory Days from 7.30pm, followed by Galway’s favourite home grown indie rock band The Amazing Apples from 11pm.
Fronted by lifelong Springsteen fan Christy Trimble, Glory Days delivers a powerful and authentic sound, performing hits from ‘Born in the USA’ through to ‘Letter to You’.
This renowned, six-piece tribute band recreates the full Springsteen concert experience, from his high octane classic hits, to soulful ballads.
Glory Days has honed their craft through years of recording and touring, and Christy’s gravelly, passionate vocals are unmatched.
“We will cover everything from the first album to the latest, with all the best hits,” says Christy.
“It’s hard to pick our favourites, but we’re looking forward to returning to the only venue we play in the city. Monroe’s Live is fantastic for getting up close with the audience.
“Galway has a great vibe, and the staff and atmosphere always make us feel welcome.”
Later that night, doors open at 11pm for one of Galway’s best known indie folk-rock bands, The Amazing Apples, to bring their signature fast paced performance to the stage.
With a sound that bridges trad, folk, Americana and heavy rock, the band has built a reputation as one of Ireland’s most exciting live acts.
Their debut album A Little Sense stormed to No. 3 on the Irish Independent Charts, and their festival appearances include Electric Picnic, Indiependence, Sea Sessions, and Westport Festival.
They have also shared the stage with artists such as Mumford & Sons, The Coronas, Gavin James, Damien Dempsey, and Sharon Shannon, while touring extensively across the USA, Britain, and Europe.
This is an exciting double bill ideal for the festive season with Glory Days from 7:30pm and The Amazing Apples from 11pm this Saturday, December 13.
Not only that, but DJ Corey Herself will play all your favourite tunes from late, as the party continues at the Late Night Venue until 2.30am.
