The band, consisting of Pat Boyle, Joe Tracy, Mike McLoughlin, Peter Tobin, and Steve Talbot recently recorded the album at the iconic Abbey Road Studios.

Known for combining rock, blues, and Americana, the group explore a range of themes, drawing on life experiences.

Their new material represents a shift from the band’s earlier 1960s-inspired melodic sound toward a rockier and darker style.

Together, they explore elements of love, depression, and the day-to-day challenges of life on the eight track album.

“Songs like ‘Takedown’ are about surviving depression,” says band member Boyle, “while ‘Fairytale’ explores middle-age love.

“We also polished up ‘Daydreams’ from our first album as a link to our roots.

“Overall, the album is a natural evolution. It’s more mature, with more drum and bass elements.”

The show will feature support from Kill Lane, an emerging Dublin band in their early 20s, who Boyle describes as “like a young Snow Patrol.”

Don’t miss your chance to catch The Opacas for this milestone event at the Backstage venue of Monroe’s Live on Friday, October 3 from 7pm, also featuring special guest, Tomás Ó'Cáinte.
