How to retrofit your home for the winter

The Warm Home Hub has announced two upcoming community events in Galway this autumn, offering householders a chance to learn, connect, and take practical steps on their retrofit journey.

Community Climate Assembly, Saturday, September 27, from 10.30am to 2.30pm, in the Bailey Allen Hall, University of Galway.

The event will showcase community success stories and amplify community voices on climate action. Community speakers will address water, mobility, nature, food and wellbeing.

Drop by the Warm Home Hub stand, where you can pick up a temperature gauge for your home and ask the team your retrofit questions. The assembly is open to everyone and is free to attend.

Knocknacarra Information Clinic, Tuesday, September 30, from 7.00pm to 8.30pm, in the Knocknacarra Community Centre.

An information clinic will be held especially for Knocknacarra households to go through grants, retrofit staging, and the benefits of improving energy efficiency in the home, and any householder in the area is welcome to attend free of charge.

Warm Home Hub’s mission is to support more Galway households in making their homes warmer, more comfortable, and more energy efficient.

“The events are about more than just retrofitting, they’re about building community confidence, sharing knowledge, and helping people make decisions that suit their home and their needs,” said Oonagh, Community Engagement Officer at the Warm Home Hub.
