Racing for Rosabel dazzled once again in its 7th year, kicking off Galway Race Week in style at the Connacht Hotel. The sold-out event, in aid of Rosabel’s Rooms, a child loss project in partnership with the Irish Hospice Foundation, brought together fashion lovers, racing enthusiasts, and supporters for an afternoon of unforgettable glamour and meaningful fundraising.

Founded in memory of baby Rosabel, who tragically passed away in 2017, Rosabel’s Rooms provides crucial emotional and financial support to families who have suffered the loss of a child. This year, the event proved to be one of the most spectacular to date, raising vital funds for the cause while celebrating the lives of those lost too soon.

One of the highlights of the event was the eagerly anticipated Best Dressed competition. The title of Best Dressed Man went to Colin Quigley, who impressed judges with his fashion-forward look, featuring a cream jacket, pink blouse, black trousers, and a handmade corsage, all from Penneys. Colin won a stunning watch from Hartmann's Jewellers for his stylish efforts.

Meanwhile, the award for Best Dressed Lady went to the glowing Kiera Williams, who looked nothing short of perfection in a beautiful dress from ASOS paired with a chic hat. Kiera, who is expecting, won a prize bundle valued at €3,500, sponsored by Canella Lane, Eyre Square Shopping Centre, and Dr. Laura Clinic.

Among the other stunning attendees was Ciara O’Neill, an artist who wowed in a gorgeous headpiece by Michelle Kearns and a dress from Guna Rentals. Ciara was awarded the Best Headpiece title, sponsored by Belissimo, Edel Ramberg, and My Tribe Jewellery.

Jenny Buckley, broadcaster and presenter, was one of the judges for the Best Dressed competition, looking radiant in a gold ensemble. She was joined by Clare McKenna of Newstalk, who served as MC for the day.

Event organiser Caroline Downey shared her excitement, saying, “What another fantastic start to Race Week here at the Connacht Hotel. We are thrilled to be back. The style was better than ever, and a huge thanks to all our sponsors and supporters. It’s always a fantastic day, but today has to be one of the best.”

Other well-known guests on the day included Sile Seoige and Fiona Morgan Coleman. The event was a wash of bold colours, with many guests opting for vibrant hues, though black remained a popular and elegant choice.

All in all, Racing for Rosabel continues to be a highlight of Galway Race Week, bringing people together for an important cause and celebrating the memory of a little girl who has touched so many lives.
