Doors open at 10pm, with support on the night from funk-infused surf rock trio, The Bog Project.

Formed in Galway, Siúcra is a six-piece featuring Ophelia Mortimer on vocals, Ben McGowan on vocals and rhythm guitar, Diarmuid Byrne on lead guitar, Rory Murphy on fiddle, Eoin O’Shaughnessy on bass, and Tiernan Bines on drums.

Since releasing their debut single ‘Travellin’ Song’ in 2023, the band has built a steady following, performing regularly along the Wild Atlantic Way.

In December last year, Siúcra released their debut EP, Rosetta, a six-track collection that captures the spirit of the group. The record is an eclectic listen, with flashes of folk, Celtic tones and hints of bluegrass, each song presenting a different mood and tone.

‘Travellin’ Song’ explores feelings of weariness and routine, while ‘Anxiety’ delves into the proximity of madness in times of deep melancholy.

In contrast, ‘Rollover’ lifts the mood with a more carefree energy, and ‘Dead Orchid’ returns to acoustic roots with a stirring combination of fiddle and bagpipes.

The closing track, ‘All I Am’, leans into a more expansive alt-rock sound, offering a fitting finale to a well-rounded debut.

Siúcra’s ability to bring together a wide range of influences, from BB King to Britney Spears, Radiohead to Irish trad, has set them apart.

With a reputation for engaging live performances and an ever-growing catalogue of material, Siúcra are a band well worth catching live.
