The Town Hall Theatre has just launched an exciting programme of events for July - September 2025 that will entertain and enthral!
There really is something for everyone, with events covering everything from theatre and drama to dinosaurs, along with a musical tribute to the Bee Gees and a talk by former Sex Pistol John Lydon.
The theatre is also hosting a whole variety of films and performances as part of the Galway Film Fleadh and the Galway International Arts Festival.
Theatre delights
Scorched Earth: Part crime-drama, part psychological thriller, this gripping exploration of ambition, land, and legacy from the creator of the multi-award-winning Volcano (GIAF 2020 & 2022 ) is coming to the Black Box Theatre in July.
Jilly Morgan’s Birthday Party: With a story that unfolds across four decades, this is an exciting, time-bending?and darkly humorous piece of new writing about the rise and fall of a fantasy. It is a condensed social history and a portrait of a city.?
Dimanche: This stunning visual show follows a family attempting to maintain a normal life as climate chaos descends. Meanwhile, three travelling wildlife reporters are doing their best to document the coming apocalypse.
Remember: The iconic Footsbarn Theatre Company return to Galway for two nights only with this moving portrayal of a rebellious family theatre group in a dystopian future where art is outlawed.
The Cave: This world premiere production, featuring a stellar Irish cast of Aaron Monaghan, Judith Roddy, and Tommy Tiernan, is directed by the Abbey Theatre’s Artistic Director, Catríona McLaughlin, takes place as part of the Galway International Arts Festival.
Finding Sophie by Christian O’Reilly: Blue Teapot's much-anticipated sequel to the spectacular Sanctuary, which tackled the difficult questions around love, sex, personal autonomy, and intellectual disability. The sequel follows Larry and Sophie's story into the future, when they reunite after years apart.
Empty Nest: Oisín Flores Sweeney's debut play is an hilarious piece of theatre that looks at how couples negotiate life after the kids leave, their dreams, disappointments, longings, and uncompromising opinions on everything - Gogglebox on speed!

Eddi Reader & Alan Kelly Gang: Scotland’s internationally acclaimed and mesmerising songstress, Eddi Reader of Fairground Attraction fame, teams up with Irish piano accordion maestro Alan Kelly and his gang of acclaimed musicians featuring Steph Geremia (flute and vocals ), John Douglas (Trashcan Sinatras ) and Mark Kelly (Altan ) on guitars with Jim Higgins (Christy Moore, The Stunning ) on percussion.

Galway Film Fleadh: Ireland's leading film festival will celebrate the 37th edition from 8th - 13th July in the Town Hall Theatre and Pálás Cinema. Irish film talent is to the fore of programming at the Fleadh alongside world cinema, award-winning documentaries and Irish and international short films.
