With its 30th season in sight this autumn, producers of TG4’s Ros na Rún are inviting viewers to shape the long-running show’s future.

The Galway-based rural TV drama series is renowned for being the first to explore social issues, including broadcasting Irish TV’s first same sex kiss, amongst other high-profile story lines.

It is now inviting viewers to give their opinions on stories and characters in the form of a series of online and in-person focus groups.

Producers of the successful Irish language series are inviting fans, whether English speakers or Gaeilgóirí, to register for focus groups to discuss character and story formations with their scripting and production team.

“As we approach an exciting 30th season, we’re looking ahead to new characters and stories and we’re keen to get valuable insights from our fans,” says series producer, Marion Ní Loingsigh.

Filmed at An Cuasnóg in An Spidéal, the TG4 drama series Ros na Rún is a co-production between Dánú Media and Tyrone Productions.

Sponsored by XL Ireland, the show has welcomed big names including HBO’s Conan O’Brien, Fiachna O Braoináin of the Hot House Flowers, Daniel O'Donnell, Nathan Carter, Francis Brennan, Stephen Fry and a host of other personalities.

At its core is the reality of rural Irish life in today’s modern and open society.

Broadcast on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s on TG4 at 8.30pm it also has an omnibus on Sunday evening at 7.30pm. It is available on both the TG4 and RTE players worldwide.
