On the edge of the Atlantic, Kinvara is getting ready to welcome the summer with Fleadh na gCuach — a weekend festival filled with traditional music, local culture, and a great community atmosphere.
From May 2 to May 5, the village will come alive with over 120 musicians performing in pubs, cafés, and on the streets, creating a lively, welcoming vibe throughout the weekend. It is a true celebration of Irish traditional music and community spirit, all set in one of the most scenic spots along the Wild Atlantic Way.
“There is something really special about the way music brings people together here,” says Maeve Kelly, Music Programmer of the festival. “It is not just the headline acts — it is the impromptu sessions, the connection between locals and visitors, and that unique buzz that fills Kinvara every May.”
Families are well catered for too, with creative art workshops, nature talks, a puppet show by Your Man’s Puppets, and the ever-popular Cuckoo Fun Run on Saturday at 12:30pm.
Visitors are encouraged to leave the car at home, with flexible transport options running from nearby towns to make getting here simple and stress-free.
Whether you are following the Wild Atlantic Way or simply looking for a weekend of music and fun by the sea, Fleadh na gCuach is the perfect excuse to visit Kinvara.
