Irish writers John Connolly, Marita Conlon-McKenna and Elaine Feeney, will be interviewed over three separate evenings in May at Kennys Bookshop in Liosbán, Galway city.

Next Thursday, May 1, crime fiction writer John Connolly will be interviewed about his new novel, The Children of Eve. The latest instalment in his bestselling Charlie Parker series follows the private investigator, as he tries to uncover a mystery involving an ex-soldier, a cartel boss and four abducted children.

On May 15, Marita Conlon-McKenna will launch her new, one-volume edition of her Children of The Famine trilogy at Kennys. This includes Under the Hawthorn Tree, Wildflower Girl and Fields of Home. First published in the 90s, these classics of children’s literature follow siblings Eily, Peggy and Michael in stories of courage, danger, adventure and survival.

This signed, limited edition hardback exclusive to Kennys, is limited to 600 copies only, and the author will be joined in conversation by bookseller and author Gráinne O’Brien.

Award-winning Galway poet and novelist Elaine Feeney will reveal her new novel, Let Me Go Mad in My Own Way at Kennys on May 27, at an event in conversation with Kennys’ own Sarah Kenny. Her new book follows ‘Claire’ who returns to the West of Ireland to care for her dying father. Back home, she grapples with haunting family memories and past secrets. Feeney’s last novel How to Build a Boat was longlisted for the 2023 Booker Prize.

Attendance is free but booking advised at www.kennys.ie or 091709350.
