Free information evening at University of Galway Access Centre

University of Galway’s Access Centre will host a free information evening on May 8. This is an ideal opportunity to find out more about the University of Galway’s Access Centre.

The focus of the Access Centre is on preparing students to engage and succeed in university. To that end, the approach centres on a holistic system of supports, academic preparedness and active exposure to university student life.

The courses on offer are:

· Access Foundation Programme - a free, full-time course aimed at groups under-represented in higher education.

· Joint Diploma in Foundation Studies, a part-time course for mature students, fee is €360, or €60 for unemployed people with evidence of social welfare.

Completion of either of these courses facilitates entry into a full-time undergraduate degree at the University of Galway. The centre offers a wide range of supports to help students through their journey in education, including disability support, support for care-experienced students, and one-on-one meetings with staff to ensure that each student's individual needs are being met, and they are given the best possible opportunity to succeed in university.

If you are thinking about undertaking third-level education, but feel unable to due financial, social or any other reason, the courses offered by the Access Centre are for you. Join the information evening where the Access Centre team will be happy to answer any questions you may have and guide you towards the best route into university for you.
