Outsider is a new dance production from Youth Ballet West, Galway Community College and Drumadore which delves into the themes of otherness and our innate human drive to connect.

Expected to be a vibrant tapestry of movement and sound, this special collaboration between Galway city’s youth performance groups will be staged at the Black Box Theatre, on Sunday, May 11, at 8pm.

The project will bring together the youthful energy of dancers aged 13 to 18 in a performance that explores what happens when a stranger comes to town, and how such encounters may enrich our lives.

Outsider incorporates live drumming, immersive soundscapes from recorded clips, and striking visual backdrops. This fusion of artistic elements highlights the vibrant diversity within our community in a way that is both thought-provoking and heart-warming.

Audiences can expect a powerful exploration of identity and belonging, expressed through innovative dance choreography and supported by drumming and visual storytelling to celebrate positive impacts of diversity and inclusion.
