The story of Aindrias de Staic

SHTAX: A Homecoming, a feature documentary about actor and musician Aindrias de Staic, will be shown tonight in the Cinemobile, outside the Town Hall Theatre at 9pm, as part of the Galway Film Fleadh.

The film looks at Aindrias de Staic, the Galway based actor and musician, who has toured his award winning show Around the World on 80 Quid across the globe.

It shows him returning home to perform it for his friends and family in Ireland, presenting him with a chance to reflect on his personal battles and changed perspectives. A talented musician and storyteller, Aindrias never lets the truth get in the way of a good story.

Shtax: A Homecoming features the show Around the World on 80 Quid, recorded last August in Campbell’s Tavern, Cloughanover. The film also features interviews with Aindrias about his travels, the show, and the mixture of truth and fiction therein.

The film is produced by Paul Murphy and Aindrias de Staic. It is directed by John Murphy. Shtax: A Homecoming is his debut feature documentary. John has previously worked as an editor on Killinascully and Tommy Tiernan – Jokerman.
