Monroe’s offer Three For The Road

Three illustrious trad musicians, Gino Lupari, Tim Edey and Dermot Byrne, will come together for a special performance at Monroe’s Live on Thursday, February 29, at 8pm.

Combining as Three For The Road, the musicians intend to showcase a mastery of Celtic roots and traditional airs.

Bodhran player Lupari is a founding member of Four Men and A Dog. His collaborations include the late Sinead O’Connor and Shane McGowan, and a ground-breaking album with Declan O’Rourke.

Edey is a multi-instrumentalist and singer. He has toured with The Chieftains, Christy Moore, and Sharon Shannon. An Englishman with Irish roots, his style is shaped by Steve Cooney, Django Reinhardt, and Arty McGlynn.

Byrne hails from Buncrana and holds the prestigious title of TG4’s Traditional Musician of the Year.

Formerly a member of Altan, Dermot has played with luminaries such as Frankie Gavin, The Stunning, and the late jazz violinist Stéphane Grappelli.
