Celebration of heritage with Scottish band Ímar at Monroe’s

Ímar

Ímar

Fast, freewheeling, contemporary and yet retaining their pure trad roots, Ímar return to Galway to play Monroe’s Live on Thursday, February 8.

Fresh from releasing their latest single ‘Always You,’ this exciting Glasgow five-piece is touring Ireland before before embarking on a tour of North America.

Together, award winning musicians Adam Brown, Ryan Murphy, Tomás Callister, Adam Rhodes, and Mohsen Amini are committed to preserving the legacy of the genre.

Comprising current and former members of Mànran, Mec Lir, RURA, and Talisk, they celebrate the sounds of Scotland, Ireland and the Isle of Man through their raw performances.

Ímar's journey began as teenagers, crossing paths through their shared passion for Irish music at Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann. Their dynamic synergy on stage is testament to their collective backgrounds and immersion in the trad scene at young ages.

Their individual technical prowess, combined with a genuine passion for genre, has earned them critical acclaim, and their commitment to preserving the authenticity of their instruments ensures rich and powerful renditions of Gaelic melodies, igniting a fusion of history, identity, and connection.
