ICDL - digital skills for employability and productivity

GRETB Training Centre is offering a fully funded International Computer Driving Licence (ICDL ) course. This full-time online course starts on May 16 and runs for 20 weeks which includes four weeks’ work placement.

The tutor-led course with daily online classes provides the skills and knowledge to use software applications on a computer and achieve a worldwide recognised qualification. ICDL provides a practical programme of up-to-date competencies and knowledge areas which are validated by exams.

The ICDL course (rebranded ECDL ) is scheduled to run from Monday to Friday. The work placement module can be in any office situation where learners get the opportunity to develop their practical skills.

On completion of this course you can source employment in a range of clerical/administrative positions in both the IT and other sectors. The certification to use devices and tools confidently and productively is an effective way for learners to set themselves apart. A sizeable number of past learners are working in various office settings, reception areas, etc.

Course modules

· Documents: Create and format documents (Microsoft Word ).

· Presentation: Communicate information (Microsoft PowerPoint ).

· Spreadsheets: Organise and analyse data (Microsoft Excel ).

· Computer essentials: Develop skills to use devices effectively.

· Online essentials: Use the internet and email to find and share information.

· Online collaboration: Collaborate with others using online collaboration tools.

· Using databases: Create tables, filter queries, forms and reports (Microsoft Access ).
