Amputee Football National League to kick off next week in Oranmore

The Irish Amputee Football Association are delighted to announce the first round of the U Value Amputee Football National League 2022.

This event will take place in Maree Oranmore FC, Oranmore, Co. Galway on Saturday 5th of March 2022 at 2pm. This event is proudly supported by APOS, Atlantic Prosthetics Orthotic Services Ltd., and is hosted by Maree Oranmore F.C.

It marks the fourth season of the Irish Amputee National League and will see Bohemian F.C., Cork City F.C., Shamrock Rovers F.C. and Scotland’s Partick Thistle F.C. compete for the coveted league title.

The Irish Amputee Football Association was established with the help and support of the Football Association of Ireland in 2011. The IAFA operate under the FAI’s Football For All programme and will provide any person with an amputation, congenital deficiency, or other limb affecting disorder with the opportunity to access Amputee Football at grassroots, club and national level.

Amputee Football in Ireland is open to men and women, young and old, boasts a Junior Academy and an International squad. The IAFA’s international squad finished 8th at last year’s EAFF European Championship in Krakow, Poland and will compete at the WAFF World Cup in Istanbul, Turkey in October 2022.
