Reddington welcomes roads works

Cllr Andrew Reddington has welcomed the major allocation of funding under the Roads Programme and has paid tribute to the Tuam Area Engineering staff for ensuring the projects were submitted for support.

He said that the worls will improve access and safety for people right across the electoral district. They are as follows:

Headford: — Mountross €125,000 Cloughanover €22,000 Claran €14,000 Greenfields €7,200 Kilbeg €18,000 Annaghkeen €11,700

Caherlistrane — Ballyfruit €175,000 Cloonascragh €15.960 Kilcoona €18,000 Caherlistrane €22,000, Biggera Beg Road drainage €15,000.

He said that he also wants to acknowledge works which are currently underway under an Active Travel allocation close to the church in Caherlistrane —

“This is a project I was delighted to make a submission for,” he said.

Corrandulla —

€40,000 LS6173 Balroebuc

€60,000 for Glenrevagh for a pumping station to prevent the road from flooding.

Kilconly —

€35,000 for safety works at Ratesh Junction at roads L2220/L6447

€15,500 Kilshanvey

€18,000 Kilconly.

Belclare —

€152,415 has been allocated for works on the R333 in Belcare and another €14,400 for local road works.

“I am also pleased to see huge improvements in the village because of the Active Travel allocation and indeed an allocation under town and village for a pedestrian crossing.
