Azor - GFS to screen acclaimed Argentinian thriller

A private banker must tread a careful path between high finance, dictators, and colonialism

AZOR, THE Argentinian film which The Guardian has called “eerie conspiracy thriller about the complacency of the super rich”, will be screened by the Galway Film Society.

The film, which was named by The Irish Times as its No 1 film of 2021, will be shown in the Town Hall Theatre this Sunday, February 13, at 8pm.

It is 1980, and the brutal military junta is further consolidating its grip on power through terror, intimidation, and disappearances. Private banker Yvan arrives from Geneva with his wife Ines to replace a colleague who has mysteriously disappeared. Moving through the smoke-filled lounges and lush gardens of the elite, Yvan must tread a careful path as he untangles a sinister web of colonialism and high finance.

Tickets are available from the Town Hall on 091 - 569777 or www.tht.ie
