Galway Executive Skillnet launches autumn training schedule

Galway Executive Skillnet (GES ) has launched its autumn training schedule with some exciting new programmes to help businesses emerge “from survival to growth” post-Covid.

GES is a training network with a strong track record of delivering quality, relevant, flexible accessible training programmes. Together with financial support from its funding agency, Skillnet Ireland, it offers exceptional value for money to local SMEs looking to upskill.

According to network manager, Carl Blake: “In recent times most businesses have only been able to focus on survival, which means maximising performance. This is challenging with so many workers under pressure, which is why we have a range of cutting-edge programmes focussing on key individual skills, eg, resilience, personal effectiveness, and of course management and communication skills.”

However Mr. Blake also points out that business need to adopt a different mindset as we start to emerge from the pandemic. “Achieving growth means doing things differently, especially in this new normal. This is why we have improved our schedule to help companies work 'on the business, not in the business'." He cites new programmes for senior managers, such as strategy and innovation, and emerging and advanced leadership to both develop internal talent and to retain staff.

As well as supporting businesses and employees, Galway Executive Skillnet has another exciting programme to support jobseekers looking to return to work. The next CareerMAP4.0 Skills Connect blended programme with mentoring support starts in mid-October, and has supported 88 per cent of previous participants find employment.
