Pálás cinema to re-open on July 16

Cinema to host limited screenings of Nomadland, Wolfwalkers, and Songs For While I’m Away

The Pálás cinema will re-open its doors on Friday July 16 with screenings of the Oscar winning Another Round, and limited screenings of Nomadland and Wolfwalkers.

The reopening of the cinema will also see screenings of French drama Two of Us; Quentin Dupieux’s wild comedy Deerskin, starring Oscar winner Jean Dujardin; and Northern Irish drama Nowhere Special. Included among the limited screenings will be Supernova; the Phil Lynott documentary, Songs For While I’m Away; and anime hit Demon Slayer.

Slightly later in the summer, there will also be screenings of Riders of Justice, The Sparks Brothers, Limbo, The Green Knight, The Boys From County Hell, Zola, and Herself. The Pálás will also host events which are part of the Galway Film Fleadh programme from July 20 to 25.

“There's lots to look forward to in the coming weeks and months with great new releases and lots to catch up on. I personally can't wait to get back to the big screen, and the popcorn, and make up for lost time,” said Pálás programmer Charlene Lydon. “I'm sure I speak for the whole team at Pálás when I say we can't wait to welcome everyone back to our big screens on July 16.”
