Whipped iced coffee

Summer is nearly upon us, bringing with it some much needed sun and longer days. For the perfect summer’s day pick-me-up try your hand at making a delicious and refreshing whipped iced coffee, with all ingredients available at your local Joyce’s Supermarket.

Whipped coffee, also known as dalgona coffee, has quickly become a popular method of making a delicious barista style coffee without needing a coffee machine or milk frother. This versatile drink can be made iced or hot, depending on what you prefer.

Start by whisking in a bowl equal parts sugar, water, and instant coffee, such as Nescafe Gold Blend. Roughly use two tablespoons of each, but you can double or triple the recipe if needed. Continue whisking until the consistency goes from a liquidy dark coffee to a light, thicker consistency. You can also use an electric hand mixer to save some extra time, the whisking will take at least five minutes. After a few minutes of whisking the mixture will become creamy and frothy and have an even lighter appearance. Once peaks have formed on the whisk, the mixture is complete.

For the final step, pour water or milk into your cup and add in a cube or two of ice (or use warm water if desired ). Spoon the whipped coffee mixture on top, et voila!
