Treat your mother to an extra special Mother's Day breakfast this Sunday with this delicious French toast stuffed with banana and maple syrup recipe. Creating this tasty breakfast treat could not be any easier with all of the ingredients available at your local Joyce’s Supermarket.
To create this delicious French toast recipe all you need is: Brioche loaf, bananas, maple syrup, two eggs, 50ml milk, 50ml double cream, 50g caster sugar, 100g butter, and cinnamon. Begin by peeling and slicing the bananas, follow by mashing and mixing the bananas with the maple syrup. Combine the eggs, milk, cream, and cinnamon in a large mixing bowl. For extra flavour add in a pinch of nutmeg and a drop of vanilla extract.
Next, heat your oven to 160°C and slice your brioche loaf into four thick slices, roughly two inches each. Once complete, slice open each slice of the brioche from the top to create a pocket. Fill the pockets with the banana and maple syrup mix and then soak the stuffed brioche on each side with the egg mix made previously. Soak on each side for roughly half a minute.
Melt the butter on a large non-stick pan and then place each of the stuffed brioche slices on the pan to fry until golden, flip, and then repeat on the other side. This should take roughly two minutes on each side. Once golden, put your stuffed French toast into the oven to warm all the way through for five minutes. Serve with your favourite toppings.
